Daily oddities

There is a pond in the middle of the Business Park Sofia where the office of the company I work for is based. In 7.30 in the morning it’s one of the most peaceful places:

And it’s full of some exotic fish along with some more commonly-like tiny ones:

There’s nothing more soothing than to watch them swim. Which was what I was doing a week or so ago-I was on the bridge smoking my “it’s finally 5 PM-let’s celebrate” cigarette next to a bunch of people throwing chunks of food in the water to feed the fish. One of the women asked me for a lighter. The odd here was that she asked in English and I knew she was Bulgarian because I heard her talking to her friends seconds before that. I replied in Bulgarian of course and I got her confused answer:

“Somehow you didn’t look like a Bulgarian to me.”

Huh?

Hey there! I had no idea you were no longer on MySpace because I haven’t logged in my account for ages. Thanks for finding me! Needless to say I am your newest Twitter follower :)

Life’s OK. Could be better-it can always be better, but it could also be worse than it is so I see my glass as half full (at least) ;) I should be preparing for my trip to Germany (I’m seeing NIN on June 29th in Düsseldorf and in Berlin on June 30th) but apart from my plane ticket and hotel reservations I have nothing else. I mean, I still don’t know how to get from the airport to my hotel-that kind of stuff. I’ll probably throw a quick search at the last second…or take extra cash and use cabs :)

Jesus, Vera. You travel abroad so often that now Bulgarians mistake you for a foreigner ;-) ah ah
I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing...

I've never seen this area in Sofia I don't think... where is it, in relation to Pavlovov?

Often? Me?! Maybe in a way ‘cause my mind roams all over the world :) Last year I went abroad only once (and missed you in London, remember?).
BTW, most Bulgarians still worship everything originating from the Great West so that was actually a compliment ;)

And, no, I’m afraid Business Park Sofia is located quite far away from Pavlovo. It’s in the suburbs, at the foot of the Vitosha Mountain. At first it seemed to be at the world’s end from where I live but it takes me only a 30 min bus ride to get there.

Ahhh it looks like a good, clean place for Sofia ;-)

But you travel everywhere for gigs! The UK, Turkey, you are going to Greece too. Didn't you go to Austria too?

Austria was in 2007. 2007 was a year of plenty-Barcelona, Amsterdam, Berlin, Vienna, Bratislava, Prague and Istanbul. This year-so far London; still to come-Dusseldorf, Berlin and Athens. We’ll see how it’ll go.

It's in my backyard, Adashka! :)
Seriously.

GReat place for having a cup of coffee without thinking about anything else.
