"Curtain call"?! WTF!!!!!!!!

Dec 3th, 2008, nin.com:

"The shows we have announced in 2009 and any more that may be announced will be a completely different approach with some different personnel and will likely be the last for the foreseeable future."

This is a nightmare-I must be still sleeping. This can not be happening.

Somehow I don't think this is the end, end. I think he's just going to take a break from touring. If you think about it, he's been pretty much going non-stop since 2005 when With_Teeth came out. I'm sure he's ready to just sit back for awhile. That said, I can't wait to hear what other music he comes up with, whether it be for NIN or other projects (like what he did with Saul Williams). You know the man can't sit still for that long. He'll be back up to something soon even if it isn't touring.

OK, he needs a break-he’s just a human after all. One of a kind but a human nevertheless.
My hmm…”tragedy” is that it was only last year that I went to my first ever NiN concert (and 7 more after) and you well know it doesn’t matter how many times you’ve seen them-it’s just never enough. The only reason I didn’t go to the USA in 2008 to see the LITS tour was my strong belief that in 2009 he was bringing the tour in Europe. I never considered another option. The “Curtain call” announcement came as a shock and it was already too late to arrange a journey to Las Vegas-we, Bulgarians, need visas for the USA and a visa could probably be obtained in a month but in a week?-impossible! He should’ve spoken earlier. God, I’m still mad!

As I said to a friend “I’d like to bet you there will be no European concert in 2009 and lose.”

I've been to see them 7 times over the past three years and I can tell you it doesn't matter if you do concerts back to back or spaced out, the post-show depression is the same. We were lucky to see them two nights in a row last year in Vienna. I've tried to convince people that I didn't travel all the way to Austria just to see my favorite band and that I was going to visit some friends who lived there but I've given up because it was just myself I think I was really trying to convince (although being there with those friends was magical).

I had another friend invite me to the Vegas show a few weeks ago but the timeline was too short to come up with reasonably priced travel arrangements. Now that the LitS production is going to end I'm really kicking myself too. Hubby isn't helping with his "well if we leave now, we could make it". Hubby usually being the one who doesn't want to be dragged to another NIN show. He's a moderate fan at best but my near obsession kind of puts him off so the fact that he now wants to go is killing me. I think I'll probably shed a few tears knowing I'll be missing it tonight.

I was in Vienna both nights too! Are you with the Spiral? Chances are you saw me there marching back and forth :) Too bad you missed Vegas-you probably heard already it was not only Josh’s last gig but Alessandro’s as well :(

Ha! That's great! I had a Spiral membership back then but I wasn't one of the ones marching. We hung out in a Chinese noodle restaurant around the corner from the venue.

Good choice because the weather was freezing! I haven’t logged in the Spiral for ages; I’m not even sure if there is still such a thing as a Spiral entrance and pre-sale. Damn! I never got the chance to use my Spiral ID card. It’s now just a useless memorabilia.

I think the Spiral died off sometime earlier this year. But I still have my membership card so I can say that I'm a card-carrying NIN fan which is always a good way to dork out in front of non-NIN fans. lol

Hmm, that is actually a pretty good idea-to put a hole in my Spiral card and wear it around my neck. But then again maybe not-I wouldn’t bear every second person’s question “What exactly is И I N ?!”. I’ve been through that too many times and it ain’t funny.
