That too shall pass...I guess
I keep forgetting that people I work with are not my friends but just random strangers. Stupid me. Naïve me. Though people are not to blame if they turn out to be not whom I took them for I can’t help feeling hurt.
The girl in question sits opposite me and right now I hate to be in one room with her let alone to endure the sight of her treacherous face for another 4 heavy hours.

Oooohhh that's not good, having to work with someone you don't like.
I treat my colleagues as colleagues, except for 4 people. Everyone else, the moment the main doors are closed behind me, remain at my place of work. This saves a lot of problems!
I am lucky that apart from 2 exceptions, my colleagues are all very nice people and very gregarious and funny. But... they are not nor will even be my friends. And I think it suits both sides :)
Same here, only the girl that provoked the entry happens to be one of the three out of numerous people I have to deal with on daily basis that I take for a friend. Or so I thought. OK, I still do. It takes a lot of fuck ups to make me erase a person from the list of my friends so she’s still on it. She just did something outrageously selfishly-she used me in an attempt to excuse a mistake she did. She didn’t mean to harm me; she only wanted to save her ass and that is why I forgave her. Still I was hurt and what she did was dishonourable and disgraceful and, for better or worse, I still believe that honour and dignity matter.
I keep a distance too. It wasn’t a conscious choice of conduct but rather an intuitive one that proved to be the right one.
You make friends with youe colleagues too. not all ate strangers

True of course. Some of my colleagues are also my friends.
